Here at Shine For Women we are thrilled to announce the formation of a new leadership team, brought together to accelerate our mission to get more women to the top, and make the corporate world more human as a result.
We are now at a critical and extraordinary moment in time for women, and we have ambitious plans to continue working in partnership with our corporate clients as well as extending our reach to millions of girls and women across the world.
This leadership team consists of Stephanie Parry, who joins as Managing Director, Lara Milward, joining as Head of Community & Partnerships, and Tamsin Ward, who returns from a period of maternity leave as Head of Brand & Marketing. Together they will lead the wider Shine team and our leaders and associates, and report to our Founders, Anna Baréz-Brown and Caroline Whaley.
Stephanie Parry brings with her over fifteen years’ experience of client leadership in the advertising industry across a range of categories varying from asset management, charity, alcohol, gaming to FMCG. She is passionate about taking a truly global mindset to business, having lived and worked in France, the USA and now the UK. At Shine, as we enter our next stage of growth, Stephanie will deliver best-in-class service to our corporate partners, as well as helping to continue to build our products to fit client needs. She will also oversee the day-to-day running of the Shine business.
Lara Milward began her career in research and strategy for social change at the House of Commons, building a case for more women in Parliament. Since then, combining her knowledge of neuroscience and physiology, Lara has been coaching communities of women and corporate teams both mentally and physically for over 20 years. She is the official coach of The Virgin Strive Challenge, which is an international community of business leaders committed to raising funds for Big Change, founded by the Branson family. In her role at Shine, she will focus on developing partnership opportunities to support women around the world, and building our global confidence and influence community, Shine On.
Tamsin Ward joined Shine at the end of 2019 with 13 years’ experience in brand consultancy and marketing, working across clients in Asia Pacific and Europe. During that time, she led global marketing for an international media agency, which for six years running was named the fastest-growing network in the world. Following a period of maternity leave and a flexible return to work, Tamsin will continue to build the Shine brand and highlight the collective impact we make to gender equity together with our partners, and most importantly, with the brilliant women we meet around the globe.
Anna Baréz-Brown, Co-Founder of Shine said, “We are privileged to work with corporate partners that are forward-thinking, passionate about gender parity and empowering their women to thrive both professionally and personally. This new leadership team will enable us to deepen existing relationships and expand our reach within industries and beyond, so that ultimately the corporate world becomes a fairer, and more human place for all.”
The creation of this new leadership team will enable Shine For Women’s Co-Founders Anna Baréz-Brown and Caroline Whaley to focus on the long-term vision of the business, a big part of which will be extending our reach to millions of girls and women across the world, including those that would never have access to our workshops today.
Caroline Whaley, Co-Founder of Shine For Women said, “Anna and I are beyond excited to see how Stephanie, Lara and Tamsin will bring breadth and depth to Shine’s leadership. With this team and the plans we have in place, we are now ready to scale Shine to unfathomable heights. We have spent the past eight years committed to getting more women to the top; now we can accelerate our momentum and with that, create a new style of leadership that will change business forever”.
